This project was for a Scottish company that specializes in producing high-quality educational materials for students over the age of 8 years. They have a comprehensive set of interactive materials that commbines the results of rigorous research with stunning visual to support inspirational teaching of science in the classroom or at home.
They contacted us with the requirements and the desired layout to build a portal to commercialize their educational materials. The plan was to use Joomla, Kaltura, Shibboleth and Flash development software, which along with the materials and videos would be hosted on the cloud computing infrastructure from Amazon (EC2/RDS/S3).
We designed the database system and then developed the specified portal. The project was managed through the SCRUM methodology. This was a good choice, as we were able to complete it efficiently in a timely manner.
Given the international scope of the project, we had to coordinate between a team of developers in Brazil and a team of designers in Scotland. However, through a good communication flow and the SCRUM methodology, we were able to easily cope with this situation.
An interesting feature of the educational portal was the fact that it has an innovative ‘Mind Map' like interface. They currently have over 500 videos on the portal, which are used by teachers and students from various European countries.
To create a web portal for the students, schools, and teachers to access multimedia educational content (+500 videos).
3,600 hours to develop the system in a period of six months
Infopar not only met our project demands within our rigorous deadlines, but also carried it out with perfection, adding value to the processes. By doing so, a simple service relationship turned into a business partnership."
